Handling at Paris Le Bourget (LFPB)

We handle overflight permits, slots, flight plans, fuel, customs and the turnaround at Paris Le Bourget. One coordinator owns the stop at Paris Le Bourget, from the first filing to wheels up.

The field

What LFPB is actually like

Le Bourget is the largest dedicated business aviation airport in Europe and carries no scheduled passenger traffic at all. Every movement is general or business aviation, which means the ground infrastructure is built around private trips rather than tolerating them between airline banks.

Operating brief

What we handle before you file

Permits

EU operators need no landing permit for private flights. Commercial operators from outside the EU need traffic rights from the French DGAC, and the lead time on those is the item worth starting first.

Slots and parking

Le Bourget is coordinated and parking is the binding constraint rather than the runway. During major events the apron is allocated well in advance, and a late request buys a departure to a nearby field for the overnight rather than a stand.

Customs and border

Le Bourget runs its own border post rather than sending non-Schengen arrivals through Charles de Gaulle. That is most of the reason a long-haul arrival is quicker here than anywhere else around Paris.

When it gets tight

The Paris Air Show every other June effectively closes the field to unaffiliated traffic. Fashion weeks in March and October and the Roland-Garros fortnight in late May are the other three periods where a request made a week out is already late.

On the ground

Off the aircraft and into the car

Several established FBOs, all of them used to handling heavy passenger loads without fuss. Central Paris is twenty minutes at six in the morning and an hour at six in the evening, and the périphérique decides which. Nothing else about the ground here is difficult.

Alternates

Where we go when LFPB will not take the trip

Every one of these is a field we would put to you with the reason attached, not a list of nearby runways.

  • LFPG

    Paris Charles de Gaulle

Business aviation is accepted but sits behind the scheduled programme, and handling costs reflect that.

  • LFPO

    Paris Orly

South of the city and slot constrained, but a genuine option when Le Bourget parking is gone.

  • LFOB

    Beauvais Tillé

An hour further out and rarely full, which is exactly why it works during the air show.
