DGCA · India
India overflight and landing permits.
India asks for more documentation than any other authority we deal with, and returns an incomplete application rather than querying it. Getting the pack right first time is most of the job.
AUTHORITY
DGCA
Directorate General of Civil Aviation
LEAD TIME
Several working days is normal and the clock only starts when the file is complete. An application missing one document has not started at all.
How this compares to the other jurisdictions →What DGCA asks for
The document pack
- 01Airworthiness, registration, insurance and noise certificates, all current.
- 02Operator air operator certificate and operations specifications for commercial flights.
- 03Crew licences and medicals.
- 04Full passenger manifest with passport numbers and nationalities.
- 05Confirmed handling and parking at each Indian stop.
- 06Crew visas, which are separate from the permit and take their own time.
WHAT CATCHES PEOPLE OUT
Crew visas are the item that strands Indian trips, not the permit. They are a separate application on a separate timetable, and an operator who starts them once the permit lands has already lost a week. We start both together.
We file it, not you
Send the route and the tail number. We work out which permits it needs, file each one, and track it to a permit number rather than a submission receipt.
