IACC · Cuba
Cuba overflight and landing permits.
Almost every trip between Florida and the Caribbean crosses Cuban airspace, which means almost every one of those trips needs a Cuban overflight permit. It is the single most requested permit on our desk, and the one operators most often discover late.

LEAD TIME
Routine requests are usually back within a working day, and short notice is often possible. Weekends and Cuban public holidays are the constraint rather than the volume of paperwork.
How this compares to the other jurisdictions →Compliance notice
Cuba sits under sanctions regimes that differ by operator nationality, aircraft registry and how the flight is paid for. We file the permit and settle the airway fees. This page is not sanctions advice, and nothing on it determines that a particular flight is permitted. Put that question to your own counsel, then bring us the answer and we will file against it.
What IACC asks for
The document pack
- 01Aircraft registration, type and MTOW.
- 02Entry and exit points on the Cuban FIR with estimated times.
- 03Crew and passenger names with nationalities.
- 04Purpose of flight, and whether it is private or commercial.
- 05Arrangements for the Cuban airway charges, which are billed separately from the permit.
WHAT CATCHES PEOPLE OUT
The permit and the airway fee are two different things, and an operator who has the first without settling the second can find the next application held up. We handle both together so the second trip is not blocked by the first.
We file it, not you
Send the route and the tail number. We work out which permits it needs, file each one, and track it to a permit number rather than a submission receipt.
