Handling at Nice (LFMN)

We handle overflight permits, slots, flight plans, fuel, customs and the turnaround at Nice Côte d'Azur. One coordinator owns the stop at Nice, from the first filing to wheels up.

The field

What LFMN is actually like

Nice is the busiest business aviation gateway on the French Riviera and one of the busiest in Europe. It is a full commercial airport with a separate business aviation terminal, so private movements share the runway with a heavy scheduled programme and get sequenced accordingly.

Operating brief

What we handle before you file

Permits

France is an EU member state, so most European operators need no landing permit. Non-EU operators and any flight carrying passengers for hire fall under French DGAC rules, and traffic rights are the part that catches people out rather than the permit itself.

Slots and parking

Nice is slot coordinated, and in season the slot is the trip. Parking is the second constraint: the business aviation apron fills, and a stop that arrives without a confirmed parking allocation can be sent to drop and go.

Customs and border

Intra-Schengen arrivals walk off without a border check. Everything else clears at Nice itself, and in July the post is working at airline volume with no spare attention for a manifest that arrives late.

When it gets tight

Cannes in May and the Monaco Grand Prix on the same weekend produce the tightest week of the European year. July and August run hot from end to end, and the Riviera does not have spare apron in either period.

On the ground

Off the aircraft and into the car

The business aviation terminal is separate from the commercial halls, which is the only reason a July arrival is bearable. Monaco is twenty minutes by helicopter and well over an hour by road in season, and the helicopter is not a luxury on a tight schedule. Cannes is closer but the coast road is the coast road.

Alternates

Where we go when LFMN will not take the trip

Every one of these is a field we would put to you with the reason attached, not a list of nearby runways.

  • LFMD

    Cannes Mandelieu

The dedicated business aviation field for the Riviera, closer to Cannes and Monaco, but it takes smaller aircraft and has its own noise rules.

  • LFTZ

    Saint-Tropez La Môle

Short and restrictive, but the only field that puts you inside the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

  • LFML

    Marseille Provence

Two hours west by road, but it has apron when Nice does not.
