Mumbai is India's financial capital and its busiest business aviation destination. The airport is severely space constrained, operating two intersecting runways on a compact site inside a dense city.

Permits

India requires landing permits through the DGCA for all foreign operators, and the documentation requirement is among the heaviest in the network. Lead times are genuine and incomplete applications are returned rather than queried.

Slots and parking

Slot coordinated and congested, with parking as the harder constraint. Extended stays in Mumbai are difficult and repositioning to a quieter field for the overnight is common practice rather than a compromise.

Customs and border

Indian entry requirements reach crew as well as passengers, and crew visas are the item most often left too late. Start them alongside the permit, not after it.

When it gets tight

The wedding season from November through February, the winter business calendar, and the monsoon from June through September, which is a schedule reliability question rather than a capacity one.

Forty-five minutes to the business district on a good day and a great deal more on a normal one, because Mumbai traffic is a category of its own. Handling is competent. Build the transfer time into the schedule honestly rather than optimistically.
