Handling at Tokyo Haneda (RJTT)

We handle overflight permits, slots, flight plans, fuel, customs and the turnaround at Tokyo Haneda. One coordinator owns the stop at Tokyo Haneda, from the first filing to wheels up.

The field

What RJTT is actually like

Haneda is the closest airport to central Tokyo and by far the most desirable arrival point for business aviation in Japan. It is also one of the hardest to get into, because the capacity given to private movements is deliberately small.

Operating brief

What we handle before you file

Permits

Permits go through the JCAB, and Japanese filing is detailed and unforgiving of errors. Lead times are real and applications are assessed rather than rubber-stamped.

Slots and parking

Business aviation slots at Haneda are scarce and allocated through a constrained process, with parking limits that often cap the length of stay. A trip that needs Haneda specifically should be started as early as any item on the itinerary.

Customs and border

Japanese formalities are precise and procedural. Documentation is expected complete and correct when it is presented, and an error gets corrected slowly rather than overlooked.

When it gets tight

Cherry blossom season from late March into April, the Golden Week holiday in early May, and the autumn foliage season. Slot pressure is year round rather than seasonal.

On the ground

Off the aircraft and into the car

Twenty to thirty minutes to central Tokyo, closer to a capital than any other field in the network. Handling is precise and the ground time is short. Everything expensive about Haneda is spent getting permission to be there at all.

Alternates

Where we go when RJTT will not take the trip

Every one of these is a field we would put to you with the reason attached, not a list of nearby runways.

  • RJAA

    Tokyo Narita

Further from the city but with genuine business aviation capacity, and the standard answer when Haneda has no slot.

  • RJBB

    Osaka Kansai

Western Japan, open around the clock, and much easier to obtain.

  • RJCC

    Sapporo New Chitose

Hokkaido, and the field for the northern ski season.
