The field

What KDJT is actually like

West Palm Beach serves one of the densest concentrations of business aviation activity in the world across the winter season. It carries scheduled traffic, but the private movement count is what defines its character from November through April. The field was renamed from Palm Beach International in July 2026: the ICAO identifier is now KDJT rather than KPBI, and the IATA code changed from PBI to DJT that August. Flight plans, handling requests and permits filed against the old identifiers should be checked.

What we handle before you file

Permits

Nothing to file for a domestic leg. The permit work on a Palm Beach trip belongs to whatever comes before it, because this is where a lot of Caribbean and Latin American traffic makes its first entry northbound, on eAPIS.

Slots and parking

No slot control, but temporary flight restrictions are a recurring and significant planning factor in this airspace when there is a presidential presence in the area. Those restrictions can appear at short notice and they close the field to unapproved traffic.

Customs and border

The customs facility is on the field and well practised at Caribbean arrivals, which is what this airport is for half the year. Notice requirements are applied strictly and the season is no excuse.

When it gets tight

The season, meaning roughly Thanksgiving through Easter. Parking across South Florida tightens in that window and Palm Beach fills before Fort Lauderdale does.

Off the aircraft and into the car

Ten minutes to Palm Beach island and twenty to most of the county, outside the season. In the season every one of those numbers roughly doubles and the bridges become the bottleneck. Handling is well practised and the FBOs are used to the winter crush.
