What SAEZ is actually like

Ezeiza is Argentina's principal international airport and the clearance point for most traffic entering the country. It is well outside the city, which is why business aviation usually clears here and repositions closer.

Permits

Argentina's ANAC issues authority for foreign operators. Lead times are moderate but the documentation requirement is real, and requirements have changed more than once in recent years.

Slots and parking

Slots are not a constraint and parking is available, though the field sits far enough out that it makes a poor base for a stay. The usual pattern is to clear at Ezeiza and reposition to San Fernando, a short leg and a much shorter drive.

Customs and border

Ezeiza is the standard entry point for Argentina and the paperwork is checked line by line. Formalities take longer than the equivalent in Chile or Uruguay, so the clearance is the schedule item, not the flight.

When it gets tight

December through February, plus the Patagonian and wine-country seasons that pull traffic onward from Buenos Aires rather than to it.

Off the aircraft and into the car

Forty-five to sixty minutes into Buenos Aires, and that distance is precisely why San Fernando exists. Clear here, reposition there, and the passengers get a fifteen-minute drive instead of an hour. Handling at Ezeiza is fine but the field is not a place to linger.
